Hello my Gorgeous friends! How are you all doing? I hope very well. First, I want to share

with you my mission in creating this fun blog. Just in case someone that has not read any of the previous post and maybe are just getting started, I want to give some background information! I was reading a blog from someone that I follow in Oregon, and I thought I need to get a community of women together as well. I want my blog to be more about everyday life. I want fun recipes that are easy, outfits that are simple to put together and not extravagant, hobbies that are not strenuous, in other words, every day real life simple but beautiful things. Here is my mission statement that I wrote, almost a year ago, when I made the decision to begin a blog (of course it took me several months to finally get it started).
Mission Statement for Blog:
To bring a community of fashionable aging women together who can enjoy aging with beauty and grace. We can have lots of fun and plenty to laugh about while looking our best! Along the way, let us encourage each other to get better at living a fulfilling life. Throw out “you cannot teach an “aging dog new tricks” and hold us accountable to having a GROWTH mindset. As we age, we can do it better! Age is a concise number and not an attitude. Accepting the gray hair, wrinkles, and aches and pains with a positive attitude and learning to adapt to these changes in life with love and compassion♥🌸🌻.
I have always journaled in the morning. I have found that it was a good way to coach myself. I know, I have fun talking to myself. What is a little embarrassing to admit is that I answer myself as well 😊. There were times throughout the years that I would miss a couple of months due to high level of work or just too much on my plate. I am sure most of you have all been there. Have you just been so out of whack that you begin feeling out of sync with life? Let me draw you my picture of me when I feel out of sync with life: My nails or toenails look awful, my skin looks dry, my house has clutter everywhere (papers all over desk), dust that just seems to appear on things when I am most tired. For instance, you lay down in bed and you look up and see that there is dust all over the ceiling fan, but you are just too tired to care! Well, these feelings have a solution to get you back on track. All of us need to do it occasionally. If you cannot block out a half day, the do an hour a day each day for a week.
Here is my list to get back on track and hit the reset button:
1. Brain dump. I take out a piece a paper and write down everything that is nagging me to get done or complete. Write it down. It could be a baby gift not bought, a note not written, a friend not called, a project at work not completed, a car not serviced, or whatever. Get it down on paper. List everything. Don’t leave it off. (On number two you get to decide if it is not of real importance and you are releasing from the list AND your mind.
2. Go through list. Be reasonable. Put on a calendar that needs to be taken care of by importance.
I have found that this makes me feel so much better. Some things might be put off for a week or month. Try to take care of little things quickly. It gives us some instant feel-good moments which encourages us to keep going. Having a calendar system or any sort helps get these nagging thoughts out of your mind and on your calendar system. Any system is better than no system!
3. Manicure and Pedicure is a must. You can do it yourself or have done. Does not seem to matter for our wellbeing. It is almost like self-love. If you are extremely busy, carve out 30 minutes and give yourself at least a manicure or pedicure. Light a candle and play some music. A total game changer.
4. Facial. I like to clean my face, put on a mask, then get into the shower. I will let the water run over my body for a couple of minutes, breathing deep almost meditation state, then massage my face. This is so relaxing. I use Keil’s turmeric and cranberry seed energizing mask.
5. De-clutter the main parts of your home. Kitchen, desk, living area are a must. I am going to let you in a secret. I literally walk around my home in the mornings singing a tune tidy up…tidy up up up…repeat, and repeat! A cluttered home seems to clutter up my brain. I am not saying that your home should be immaculate all times but buy stopping and de-cluttering your main space will give you some peace of mind. I can almost guarantee that you well feel instantly better.
I have found that giving myself time to do these few things will re-energize my body and brain and get me back on track. Do you have a ritual that you do to reset your mind and body? I would love to hear some of your tricks! Heading out this coming weekend for a girl’s trip. It has been an extremely busy month and I am ready for some relaxation and spending time with some wonderful girlfriends.
