You can simply take your self-image up a notch by doing this one thing......promise!

How do we see ourselves? Sounds a little strange but an important question. What is self-image? The dictionary states: the idea one has of one's abilities, appearance, and personality. I am not talking about what our public image is, but how we actually see ourselves. I noticed when I was not having to get up and get dressed up for work, I would go about my day looking a little rough. I realized one day around 11am that I did not wash my face and I know, sounds a little scary, or brush my teeth. I stopped immediately and put it on my daily morning routine. I get up, brush my teeth, wash my face, and apply moisturizer. Yep, each morning. Then, I one day, looked in the mirror and started laughing. Oh, my I looked scary. I did an experiment. The next few days, I put on comfortable clothes but made sure the outfit was well matched and I could be seen in public. LOL. You would not believe what a difference it made. I treated myself differently. I even put on a little lip color throughout the day. Now, I have added this to my program in coaching. It is just as easy to put on something that makes us feel good.
I challenge you to spend an extra five minutes each day getting dressed on your off days, meaning that you are not going anywhere and usually put on your grunge clothes. Get rid of the really bad ones, you know what I am talking about, and start putting a little effort into dressing for yourself and it will improve your image of yourself. When we view ourselves better, we treat ourselves better. We eat better. When we look good, we feel good. Try it. Do the experiment of putting just a little more effort into your routine of five minutes. It will take your self-image up a notch!
I am adding a picture of my rose bush that my mother-in-law bought me about five years ago. It struggled during this entire time but finally I read up on roses and tried a couple new things. I trimmed it back earlier spring and fed the soil some bone meal. Wow, what a difference. So, get rid of those stained t-shirts with holes in it and those bagging shorts that are raggy and put on something a little nicer. It will make you feel like a whole lot better. Just five more minutes and you will improve your self image. Put a little blush on too
