Thinking as your future self sounds a little strange? Well, there are many successful entrepreneurs, and leaders who continuous do this. I was listening to a podcast, and she said always lives into who she wants to become. It pushes her to become better. I found it very interesting. She went on to explain how we tend to have these thoughts about who we are, and how we do not always have to accept all things will always be that way. We can make a few changes by changing are thoughts. You know how I have mentioned several times how many of us have to work on our thoughts. Thoughts create feelings, which create us to act then it gives us results. So, it makes complete sense if we are not liking our results we could look at our thoughts. For example, if you are someone who considers yourself to be a disorganized individual, then you do things to match your identity. So, if you want to become on organized and neat person, you need to change your thoughts in your head that you are an organized and neat person. Sounds a little strange. Now, when you get up in the morning, you would have to think thoughts of what an organized person would do. We all know that the neat and organized person would put things back once it is used. They would never leave the towel on the floor, the blow dryer on the sink, and the toothpaste on the counter. These things come naturally for the organized person because they created these good habits and it became natural to them. A messy person will need to create new thoughts of what their new identity of being a organized person. I really started to enjoy this. Yes, thinking like your future self.

If a person has always been someone who ate unhealthy foods, does not mean they cannot start thinking in new ways as a healthy person. This has been done! Yes, I did my research and there is therapy that is offered to teach individuals to think differently. We have all heard of positive psychology and it makes sense to us if you have changed your negative thoughts to positive thoughts, seems to be logical that you would be happier. I am not making fun of this. I know there are a lot of people who have a way of seeing the glass as half empty. I am fortunate that I have never had that. I tend to be very optimistic about life and want to see the glass completely filled! I do like the idea that we can practice today of who we want to see ourselves in the future. Yes, at any age. You know I just had to add that. We can do anything at any age. We can think like our future self and began practicing new habits!

I guess what intrigued me was that we don’t have to accept traits about ourselves that we do not like. We just need to change it. AND it starts with creating new thoughts. Think as if you are that type of person. I can see where this would work. I have known several people that were unhealthy, never worked out and never thought about what they ate. Then, something happened, and they started to become this health nut. I have also seen someone who was nonathletic, never worked out, never participated in any type of exercise and then they started being a gym rat. So, all things are possible to change what we do not like about our daily routines or habits. That is all it boils down to. What we do each day is what we become. Think about that. We are our daily habits. So, we need to think about if we are happy or content with where we are in life and what we have become from our ingrained habits. If we are not, then let’s change it! Start with our daily habits. One habit at a time!
I am always trying to improve my habit of putting everything back into its place. A place for everything and everything in its place. I love having things in the right places. Unfortunately, sometimes things happen and I get into a hurry and do not return things to there proper place. I have said before, I try and do a little step each day with a tune of "tidy up, tidy up up up, tidy up, tidy up up up". This gives me some peace in my mind. For some reason, a disorganized home creates a disorganized mind. Let's all try to think like our future self and that might be organized!
Have a Beautiful Day!
