Loving me some Vitamin C

Over the years, I have spent a small fortune on skincare products. This is mainly due to some incredible cosmeticians at Dillard’s lol. They would introduce me to all the new creams, lotions, fragrances, and of course the anti-aging creams. I am sure everyone has heard of the about our topic for this blog…the power of Vitamin C. We all know how to get our vitamin c through bananas, oranges, kiwi, peppers, all the things we mostly love. But, I had always thought of the nutritional aspect of Vitamin c. However, last week, while visiting my niece, she received a package, and was so excited that it was her refill of a small vial of Vitamin C. She began to tell me the benefits and why she religiously uses. I was so disappointed in myself. I thought I had a very good regimen. When I came home, I looked through my shelf and of course, I had an unopened box of Keil’s Vitamin C, listing all the benefits that Amy had mentioned. I was excited and deflated and the same time. Wait, is that possible? Hmm. Well, let me explain what I mean. I was excited that I had the unopened box! Wo Hoo! I was disappointed that someone had sold it to me, surely thoroughly explaining the benefits, and it went through one ear to the other 🤦‍♀️. Anyway, not to get off track to much, I started my usual crazy googling and from one of my favorite sources, BINGO, there is a great article written in verywell health magazine, explaining the benefits of Vitamin C. The benefits are unbelievable. I just had to share. And, compare to most creams and serums, it is very affordable.

According to the article, Vitamin C is legendary in the skin care world. In fact, some say it is the holy grail for all things skin-related, and for good reason. This incredible antioxidant, anti-inflammatory nutrient is known to improve skin tone and texture, hydrate the skin, and reduce signs of aging. You can get vitamin C in fruits and vegetables, but that’s not the only way to enjoy its benefits for skin health—it’s widely used in cosmetic products. Researchers have discovered that when it comes to healthy skin, topical vitamin C is significantly more effective than consuming it. This was fascinating to know! How did I miss this? Oh well, as I love to say “it is never too late to start something new”! By adding vitamin C to your skin care routine can not only brighten your complexion but also protect against skin damage caused by sun exposure and harmful free radicals. Wow, you know as much as I garden, I have had some sun damage. I spend a lot of time outside, so I definitely have it. I try to always wear sunscreen but there are times when I let it completely slide. Topical vitamin C is absorbed directly into the topmost layers of the skin, allowing it to get to work immediately on smoothing the skin, reducing fine lines and dark spots and protecting against free radicals. Vitamin C is available in facial moisturizers and serums. Serums are more concentrated than moisturizers and more easily absorb into the skin, which is why more skincare specialists recommend vitamin C serums. Most research says that vitamin C is best implemented into your skincare routine when used as a topical serum. Even serums containing low concentrations (under 1%) of vitamin C still deliver antioxidant protection and skin benefits.

If you are not using and ready to incorporate vitamin C into your daily skin routine, as this is how the article recommends, they do suggest you might test a patch of skin with a little Vitamin C to find out how your skin reacts. Some minor tingling is normal, but if you experience anything more intense, stop using the it! Here is where to insert into your daily routine....

Cleanser

Toner

Vitamin C serum

Moisturizer

Sunscreen

That is easy, just by adding a step. I already use a serum, but it does not have vitamin c. If you want to surprise yourself, google the ingredients in your current serum or moisturizer. It is wild! There has to be at least 25 in mine. Vitamin C is now on my daily regime.

Hope you enjoyed this little tidbit of information! I was fascinated. THANKS AMY NICOLE for the information.

Have a beautiful day!Where your sunscreen and add some topical Vitamin C to you life❤🌸🌻💕😍
