How to get off the Gerbil wheel…..

Have you ever said to yourself that you wanted to start something good for you such as eating well, or maybe start an exercise program only to make it two weeks?


Or maybe, the new diet that you want to commit to while the motivation is high and you do well until Thursday night and decide screw it. I call it the gerbil wheel that never stops.


It goes in a circle over and over. We decide on Monday, or maybe the first of the month that we are going to begin…motivation is high.


The Gerbil Wheel




I know this all too well. I did this for over 25 years. This sounds almost ridiculous but after working with women in the last couple of years, it is extremely common.


So, how did I stop this gerbil wheel cycle? Give up Perfection.


I learned that perfection does not work. We tend to stop once we screw up.

If you have the popcorn, forgive yourself because you are human and keep your reason for the goal in your mind. I also use the “sacred moment” tool for how to keep from having the movie popcorn.
