A little unmade decision..can be all it takes!

Just make a decision! Every day we are faced with all kinds of decisions and most we make without much thought. What are we wearing today, what are we having for breakfast, which way do I want to drive to work, and on and on. There are some decisions that we make so automatically that we don’t even have to think. How about a cold or hot shower? Decision made, steamy shower LOL. When we are familiar with situations, making a decision is fast and easy. However, there are many times that we have avoid changing the situation or get different results because we simply do not make a decision to do so. I have been thinking about section of a book about decision making and was fascinated that we are sometimes not pleased with something in our lives but do not realize there is an unmade decision. I looked up the definition of decision in Merriam-Webster which states:

Definition of decision

a : is the act or process of deciding

b : a determination arrived at after consideration

Sounds so elementary. The act or process of deciding something. Have you ever felt anxiety or overwhelm or maybe just plain stuck or just don’t feel like you are moving forward with something? It could possibly be an unmade decision that is lurking around. I know, it kind of sounds bizarre to think about. How can we make a decision that we do not know about? Well, again, it usually stems for unresolved issues or from not taking action. When we are not getting the results that we want to experience, so we need to ask ourselves if there is a decision that needs to be made. If we have something in our life that we are not happy with the results, we might just need to think what is the unmade decision? For instance, if you are feeling lethargic and feeling drained and have no energy, maybe you need to make a decision to go for a daily short walk or simply sit outside and get some sunshine. We all know that if we move more, we will most likely feel better. A decision to begin a quick 5-minute walk could be that simple or a good place to start. Or, maybe a decision to use the stairs when possible. Little unmade decisions being decided upon could come up with some big results. How about learning to not use creamer but only in your first cup of coffee? Or, maybe switching your television off at 10pm so you get a good night's sleep. There are many ways that we can make our lives better-which is getting better results, by simply making a few decisions on our little “unmade” decisions. Life does throw us some big decisions that we purposely avoid due to the amount of change that might happen. It seems that some individuals are not good at making decisions big or small. At least we can defend reasons for not committing to a big decision but these little ones? So, go about your day and see what little decision (commitment as well), that we can make now that will give us great results in a year. Sounds crazy but it is that simple. Small hinges swing big doors. What is going to be your decision? I would love to hear it.

Have a great day! Make that little decision!!!
